DUTSE MUSEUM

DUTSE MUSEUM

argaiv1289

Established only in the year 2000, but have substantially brought about awareness and generated substantial interest in  the local community and visitors to the palace.

It is ironic and regrettable that much of the age-old objects which could tell us about our ancestors past have been stolen or relocated during the colonial period, however energetic efforts are being made by the Emirate Council to trace and gather existing artifacts and crafts for keep in the newly constructed Dutse museum for the benefit of future generation  and historical interest. Collections already gathered range from cultural objects such as traditional Hausa and Fulani costumes and clothing to musical instruments, agricultural implements, commerce and industrial materials, household utensils, paintings and art objects, native herbs and medicines, Hausa and Arabic literature, weaponry and  many others.
