Being  the custodian of religion and culture, the  emirate council customarily organizes festivities and ceremonies to mark special occasions. The ceremonies elegantly and adorably display the best of our proud Heritage. Among the special occasions that are being marked include the two Islamic Eid-fitir and Eid-Adha. They  are  marked  with 3 day of
Hawan Sallah,
Hawan Bariki,
Hawan Shuwari

The ceremonies feature a large procession of more than a  thousand  horsemen dressed in colorful costumes followed by  musicians and dancers in a carnival like atmosphere. The horses are equally decorated with silver and gold ornaments to complement the colors and importance of the rider. The procession is watched by thousands of on lookers lined up in the streets cheering the participants. The evenings are spent watching  various cultural dances  and displays of musical talents, at the Emir’s palace.
There are less colorful but equally important ceremonies that displays the rich cultural and religious heritage of the Emirate such as mini-Durbar, installations  and turbaning ceremonies.
